This advanced technology has been used with fantastic outcomes in many fields of medicine: urology, orthopedics, sports medicine, rehabilitation, gastroenterology, cardiology, and dermatology.

In 2009, shockwave therapy was expanded for use in aesthetics medicine and professional aesthetics to treat imperfections such as dimpling skin, fat, skin laxity, and to help with body remodeling. Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) is also used in facial treatments to redefine contours and treat expression lines such as wrinkles and fine lines as well as stimulate facial skin's firmness and health.

STORZ MEDICAL was the first company worldwide to successfully change the physical properties of shockwaves to enable their effective use as pulsating acoustic waves in anti-cellulite therapy and body shaping. AWT Acoustic Waves produce biological effects that can promote the activation of metabolic processes and connective tissue stimulation.

Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT), a term made popular by STORZ MEDICAL, is an innovative, evidence-based technology platform. By utilizing unique sets of advanced acoustic pressure waves used extensively worldwide, this technology stimulates tissue repair and regeneration and eliminates visible signs of connective tissue disorders. Hear from acclaimed medical professional, Dr. Knobloch, as he shares his vast experience and success using AWT to treat skin-related conditions in this informative webinar.

Many have turned to shockwave when it comes to treating acute and chronic pain and men’s health issues; it also has numerous advantages when it comes to aesthetics.

Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) for Health, Beauty, and Wellness

In the world of aesthetics, there is an undeniable connection between how you look and how you feel. Clients are looking to put their best face and body forward because they value the importance of physical appearance. The mind-body connection is real: if your client is not looking their best, they certainly won't be feeling their best. For clients seeking treatment, the goal is to become the best physical version of themselves and exude health, beauty, wellness, and confidence to all whom they come into contact with.

For many, avoiding surgery and injections is a driving force in looking to Acoustic Wave Therapy as a treatment modality. Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) enhances health, beauty, and wellness and is completely non-invasive--no needles and no incisions-- without any side effects.

The anti-aging and restorative effects of Acoustic Wave Therapy treatment can deliver results as soon as the first treatment session depending on the area being treated. Treatments with this technology accelerate natural tissue repair and regeneration processes, increase lymphatic drainage, and reactivate metabolism to reduce fat and dimpling imperfections. Remarkably, Acoustic Wave Therapy is known to increase collagen production and improve skin tone, restoring elasticity and firmness.

By enhancing health, beauty, and wellness, Acoustic Wave Therapy delivers abundantly, with no pain, needles, or fillers—and that's a win-win for both practitioner and client. Rather than relying on invasive procedures, this technology is a natural solution that depends on your body's own regenerative potential.

Providing Body Treatments Using Acoustic Wave Therapy

The skin is the largest organ of our body and deserves more respect and care than it gets. During different stages of life, the skin experiences stress and naturally undergoes changes that affect appearance. For many, the natural aging process is difficult to accept, so they choose to invest in aesthetic care to be restored and rejuvenated, safely and non-invasively.

Undoubtedly, the physical body would give thanks and praise if it could for the restoration to a healthier state and more pleasing appearance. But for now, you'll have to depend on the client to make such proclamations. Consider the array of body treatments made possible by Acoustic Wave Therapy :

  • Skin toning and firming
  • Treatment of scars and stretchmarks
  • Remodeling treatments, reshaping and contouring
  • Smoothing of connective tissue
  • Manipulate muscle tone, lift, and shape

  • Myofascial release and more

Help Clients Put Their Best Face Forward With Acoustic Wave Therapy

Because our face takes center stage in our daily lives, it's essential to maintain it. More than any other part of the body, the face is exposed to harsh environmental conditions, which takes a toll and can rapidly advance aging and cellular breakdown. Because Acoustic Wave Therapy allows a non-invasive means of improving skin tone, shaping, and line reduction, and texture, it's akin to the fountain of youth in this modern age.

There's just no substitute for looking your best! Now, thanks to Acoustic Wave Therapy, many facial imperfections may be addressed quickly and easily:

  • Anti-aging face treatments
  • Skin tone and firming
  • Facial wrinkles
  • Delicate eye area
  • Double chins and sagging

Before the advent of Acoustic Wave Therapy, turning back the hands of time was only possible through creams, potions, injections, and invasive surgeries.

When treating clients with Acoustic Wave Therapy, how is success measured?

In medical practices, when treating pain, you're able to assess with a pain scale (1-10) to know when a patient is improving. Aesthetics is a whole different scenario, and measures of success are totally subjective. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What one person deems as a favorable outcome may not impress another. There are some tools for actual measurement of body changes, and before and after photos can be compelling as well.

Furthermore, this question brings to light the need for effective client communications. From the start, it's important to be clear on client expectations. What are they looking to achieve? What would success look like to the client? Are their goals realistic, and can the change be achieved?

Typically, treatment involves a minimum of two treatments per week over the course of six to eight weeks. Depending on the treatment area, effects can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months. Some clients will receive treatment one time, while others may seek treatment bi-annually or annually.

As could be expected, long-lasting positive outcomes are supported by following a healthy diet and exercise plan as a lifestyle. For best results, patients should forgo a high-fat diet paired with a sedentary lifestyle; clients should apply common sense.

Several scientific and clinical studies prove the value of AWT Acoustic Wave Therapy's long-term treatment effects.

Can Acoustic Wave Therapy be combined with other treatments?

While AWT can be safely combined with botox, it's imperative to get the timing of treatments right. Ideally, the client should not undergo AWT until 4 weeks post Botox treatment to not interrupt Botox's effects; thus, Acoustic Wave Therapy can further enhance results.

Acoustic Wave Therapy may also be safely used in combination with face/body mesotherapy. It's been noted that this dual treatment in a single protocol offers far superior results. In combination, AWT boosts the effect of mesotherapy, thus delivering impressive results.

Stay tuned for more on AWT, as we'll soon discuss companion treatments and complementary modalities in greater detail.

As an anti-aging solution, AWT stimulates regenerative potential and can be used as a preventative treatment to reduce your client's susceptibility and/or reverse and eliminate visible signs of connective tissue disorders.

Thanks to the non-invasive nature of AWT, treatments can be customized and tailored to the needs and desires of each client. There are clinical and financial benefits to adding AWT to your continuum of care.
