The excitement and energy experienced at the latest Institute of Tissue Regeneration & Repair medical conference, held in downtown Phoenix, April 27th -28th surpassed that of the Phoenix Suns vs the Minnesota Timberwolves play-off game taking place that very same weekend. This event marked the 10th conference in the highly regarded Institute's conference series sponsored by CuraMedix, STORZ Medical, Cervos Medical, NewLane Finance, and RegenMed. These conferences have grown in popularity and impact, with the latest having the highest attendance to date. This conference series is recognized as the first and longest-running U.S. conference series focused exclusively on evidence-based shockwave and EMTT.
With the unprecedented turnout, this medical symposium provided a unique opportunity for participants to network and draw inspiration from respected peers, physicians, scientists, and researchers spanning various fields of expertise.
CuraMedix Medical Director, Dr. Brice Blatz, kicked off the meeting by welcoming the attendees and highlighting the excitement and increased interest that is building around regenerative medicine and these significant technologies
Here is the line-up of extraordinary speakers with a brief recap of what each speech focused on:
Prof. Dr. Ludger Gerdesmeyer: Renowned as one of the world’s leading shockwave/EMTT researchers; attendees heard two presentations to guide and inspire.
Paul Hobrough: An expert Physiotherapist and shockwave educator from Corbridge, England, also gave two valuable and very entertaining presentations.
Dr. Denton Davenport, DO: Anesthesiologist, interventional pain management, orthobiologics aficionado, and founding physician of Orion Pain delved into EPAT, ESWT, EMTT, biologics, clinical studies, and treatment protocols for success.
Dr. Hani Saeed, DPM: A leading podiatric expert shared insights on achieving success with shockwave and EMTT. From defining success to mastering technologies and setting realistic expectations with patients, attendees gained actionable insights to assure wins in practice and with patients.
Dr. Amol Saxena, DPM, MPD: This internationally renowned sports medicine expert and foot and ankle specialist took to the podium to spotlight shockwave treatment for conditions below the knee as well as to highlight many of the research projects he’s been involved with and top athletes he’s successfully treated.
Dr. Mathew Vogt, MD: The founder of the SMaRT Institute specializes in sports medicine and utilizes regenerative medicine, including ESWT, EPAT, and biologics from Cervos, to improve patient outcomes and accelerate healing. Dr. Mathew Vogt shared his expertise in integrating EPAT and ESWT and how to achieve best-in-class outcomes.
Dr. Veronica Jow, MD: Physician and founder of Avid Sports Medicine, Dr. Jow shed light on digital marketing strategies to help medical professionals promote shockwave and EMTT to attract and educate patients.
With such an extraordinary line-up of speakers, attendees were inspired, educated, and energized by the full range of possibilities of integrating shockwave and EMTT into practice.
They also had the opportunity to hear about the Institute for Tissue Regeneration & Repair’s new outcome tracking data solution - Circles(R). This program is being made exclusively available to CuraMedix customers, to help capture, aggregate, and benchmark real-world patient outcomes, to include Shockwave Therapy and EMTT clinical evidence.
Prof. Dr. Ludger Gerdesmeyer reflected on the immense value of the Institute conference below.
"The conference hosted by the Institute for Tissue Regeneration and Repair is one of
the most relevant conferences for physicians and clinicians in the field of tissue
engineering.
The focus was on clinical relevance of new concepts in tissue engineering in
orthopedics, sports medicine, and regenerative medicine. Evidence was presented by
world-leading researchers, and clinical relevance was discussed by leading sports
physicians and experts.
The concept of this conference is excellent because it was used as a podium for
discussion of patients' expectations, values, and many cases, as well as an exchange of
clinical experience by the participants. This was the difference to only scientific based
meetings. I hope the Institute will stay with this concept. It's a must to be a part of in the
future."
This medical symposium leads the way with its opportunity for focused learning on Shockwave (EPAT/ESWT), Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT), and other complementary regenerative approaches.
Those in attendance gave high praise for the Institute medical conference in Phoenix. The heat in Phoenix seemed to match the energy level throughout the duration of the conference. In addition to being an outstanding learning environment, the events were information-packed and fun.
See what peers say, and you'll understand why many attend Institute conferences regularly. Several attendees shared that this opportunity to learn and collaborate with the best in regenerative medicine is an incredibly enriching experience!
conference in April. Dr. Gerdesmeyer and Paul Hobrough were excellent in their
training with scientific evidence and how to properly educate our patients about the benefits of regenerative medicine. Shockwave has provided so much benefit for our patients over the last 3 years."

many cutting-edge applications for Shockwave and EMTT technology- especially in their relation to sports physical therapy. To learn from the world's leaders in the space was amazing and made me feel more confident in my ability as a clinician to select cases and administer treatment effectively."

- Shockwave has the most evidence. More than any other modality in sports and musculoskeletal medicine. Its popularity and acceptance are growing.
- Shockwave is still cutting edge. Even though it's been around since the 80s, shockwave is reemerging as a key part in the growing field of Soft-Tissue Engineering.
- Shockwave's uses are expanding. Tendons, Bones, Joints, Muscles, Wound Healing, Scars, and more.
- Shockwave + PRP leads to even better results. By combining these, many are seeing even greater improvements in pain and function.
The future will be incredible. Studies are currently underway using shockwave for neurologic conditions, including spinal cord injury, Alzheimer’s, and stroke.”
